Check this out:

Re: Doggy Steps... Are they serious?!
Mon, January 2, 2006 - 12:41 PMMiles Davis the dog could use that sometimes. Last night I slept at my Aunt & Uncles in Napa (no Napa isn't completely submerged in water) and the bed I slept in, well, Miles couldn't get onto it. He did jump off once, but I was a little worried about him. Think about the small dogs...they need independance too...don't they?
And yet, even if he had one I wouldn't be carting it all over the universe with my dog. Why don't the people just pick up their dogs? How silly!
Thanks for sharing. -

Re: Doggy Steps... Are they serious?!
Mon, January 2, 2006 - 2:26 PMone of the most common problems that long, little dogs like dachshunds have is broken spines. you see them with their hindquarters in little trolleys a lot.
it happens when they try to jump down off of couches and beds.
the spines are so abnormally long (breeding) that they just snap at that angle.
so no, it isn't funny at all.
sorry...we just lost a member of our pet family today. -

Tue, January 3, 2006 - 8:13 AMI had a 4lb Yorkie - she could have used the steps to get on a the bed.
They're serious. Little dogs and old dogs need a little help sometimes. -

Re: Doggy Steps... Are they serious?!
Tue, January 3, 2006 - 10:17 AMtrue--we've even had a ramp over the steps down from our porch to the yard for our old dog for over a year. taking it apart this week, in fact, as Becky doesn't need it now (her cancer was overtaking her and we let her go while she was still having some good days).

Sorry
Tue, January 3, 2006 - 2:32 PMOk, so I thought this was funny, thanks to ya'll it is now sad. I am sorry about your loss, I am sorry that these poor little guys break their backs and all.
Now I understand this dream I had last night too, I dreamed about this poor little doggy this guy had that was so badly injured, but yet still made the best of things seemed like a happy little dog.
I will now endorse the steps (I still say just pick the guy up though.) -
